The Technical Exhibition was an initiative of the B.Sc.IT Department of SIES (Nerul) College of Arts, Science & Commerce. It was a first of a kind technical platform provided to the students of the college to boost their technical, innovative and presentation skills. It was proposed by the Coordinator, BSc.IT, which it grew into a huge exhibition undertaken by the First-year and Second-year students of B.Sc.IT.

The exhibition took place in the Quadrangle area of the college building on 24th Feb 2015. 13 groups showcased the exhibition, with 8 being from First year and the rest from Second year, each featuring distinct topics. The Judge for the exhibition was Asst. Prof. Dhanraj Jadhav (Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics, Vile Parle).

The event was also graced by Dr. S. Vishwanathan (Managing Council Member) and faculties of various courses in the college. The Principal, Dr. Rita Basu guided us through out to make this event successful.

Many students from various streams also became a part of the audience including students from our sister institution SIES Graduate School of Technology (Nerul). The models made were working real-life models made by the students with guidance from the Final Year students and IT faculties.

Asst. Prof. Dhanraj Jadhav judged the groups under various criteria, inspecting every detail, ranging from their presentation to their models and knowledge.

The winners were the group of First Year students showcasing the OSI Model. The runners-up were Second Year students with their project “Portable Charger” followed by “Data Transmission” presented by another First Year group securing a third place.

Although the winners were these, the losers were none. All the groups presented their models and projects at such an early phase in their academic lives and did beyond what anyone had expected of them. Where the Line Tracing Robot, Robotic Car and Electronic Harmonium interested those oblivious to IT, the faculties and other tech-oriented audience learned a great deal from the other presentations like VPN, WiFi, Routers etc.
