SIESONS 2016-17

Date: 29th Enlightening Lives: Visit to ‘Vatsalya’ (Social Cause Pre-Event 2)

October 2016

Purpose: To spend diwali with the orphans and aged people at the NGO.

The SIESONS 2017 organising committee did away with their second social cause during the festival of Diwali by celebrating it with the tiny tots and aged people at ‘Vatsalya’, an NGO in Sanpada harbouring orphan children and aged people. 30 volunteers of theentire volunteer clan of SIESONS 2017 took the responsibility to make this event a success. The beneficiaries of the event were 15 orphans and 15 aged people at the NGO.

The event started in the traditional Indian manner with lighting of the lamp by the authorities in the NGO along with some of our students followed by a prayer song. Thereafter, the team headed towards conducting ‘diya painting’ competition for the kids, and ‘poetry recitation’ for the aged people. A dance workshop was also arranged by team SIESONs for the kids, which they enjoyed after the winners of the ‘diya painting’ competition were announced.

The event ended with distribution of ‘diwali sweets’ to the people at the NGO and lighting crackers with them. Thus, team SIESONS 2017 was successful in ‘enlightening’ the lives of people at the NGO in the real manner by managing to get smiles onto their faces.
